This is an extra post today because I need your help! I want to put into action something I have been thinking about for quite a while now and that is to list some of my new paintings on my Artfire site. Before I do that I would like some valuable feedback and in exchange for that, I am willing to give away one of my new ACEO or 5" x 7" watercolor paintings for free – even free shipping.
That winner could be you!
Here’s a summary of most of the new paintings I have done to date in the 100 in 100 Challenge, organized by size:
5” x 7” or larger: (# 1 through # 21)
ACEO Paintings (2.5 inches x 3.5 inches): (# 22 through # 28)
HERE’S HOW TO ENTER INTO THE DRAW:
Post a comment here on this blog entry your answer to one or all of these questions:
- Which one of the above 28 paintings is your favorite, and why?
- If the cost were right, which one would you purchase?
- For the one you chose, how much would you expect to pay and/or be willing to spend on purchasing your favorite.
I will put everyone’s name into a drawing for the winner of one of the ACEO’s shown above (your choice!). If you answer all 3 of the questions, you will have 3 chances to win. Answer 2 and you will have 2 entries in the drawing. Only 1 and you still get 1 chance to win.
There is absolutely no obligation to do anything, so relax.
However, I will so appreciate your feedback. I’ll keep this contest open from today (the 25th of June) until the 6th of July (Monday), after which I will throw your entries into a jar and ask someone else to pick the winner!
Thanks so much for all your support now and in the future.
Creatively Yours In Spirit,
Arlene

Desert Fortress is my favorite. I believe that is #6. I waffled between that one and #1. I like Desert Fortress the best because of the colors used and the sunlight shining down upon the fortress. It evoked a feeling of the Source or Divine shining down on the place. I would buy this one and/or #1 if the price were right. I think you should set the price. The price I would pay and the price I could afford may be different.
I have to pick just one?
1. I love #1, 4 and 6!!
2. I love #1 because it's just a stunning resemblance of a abstract rainbow. I love #4 because it to me represents feminine grace and beauty. I love #6 because it's a New York Skyline that's ablaze of life.
3. I would gladly pay 500.00 for an original.

I would love to buy Move in Grace - it just speaks to me! It makes me think of dancing - and I really miss dancing. I also loooove the colors in it! I'm no good at pricing things...but I'd gladly pay 25-30 for a print if I had the money...
1.) Oh geez, it's so hard to pick! I really like Underworld Fantasy (5), Quiet Lake (7), Creativity Angel (11), Blue Moon (12), Quiet Pond (20), and the beach scene (26). I think of those, my favorite is the Quiet Lake, though, because I love watery landscapes and that one is just so relaxing. :)
2.) If I picked one to purchase, it would be the Quiet Lake or the Beach scene.
3.) I'm not much help here because I've never bought original artwork, and would probably not have the money to afford it even if I knew what it would cost.
And hey, randomly I saw that you're doing a WTJ thing- I'm late coming into it, but I think I'll follow that link and sign up! I've been seriously neglecting my WTJ.
Q 1. Quiet pond. It speaks to me. I always seek places that offer solitude surrounded by peaceful beauty. It's just a lovely piece.
Q 2. Quiet pond.
Arlene, don't put me into the draw. On the off chance I would win, the postage would be too expensive. Thank you for the offer, anyway, it's thoughtful.
It is very hard to choose just one. It's hard not to ramble about which ones I like for different reasons. For this contest here, I will choose Underworld Fantasy. For a 5"X7" original, I would expect to pay around $75-$100.
I could see paying slightly more for some of the less surreal paintings. Many of these works really make you smile on the inside.
Beautiful.
6 and 23 are beautiful. I love the colors in 6 and 23 is a beautiful floral piece. I don't think I could pay more than $250 for a piece of work UNLESS it really really spoke to me. My parents pay upwards of tens of thousands of dollars for framed Thomas Kincaid paintings. So the price is always dependent on the market and how quickly you wish to sell the paintings. I hope you do well Arlene! I know this is one thing that you really love.
I love them all, especially the "squiggle" ones like the duck -it's so much fun.
Move In Grace may be one of the older ones, but it's still my very favorite of all. It has a real elgance and life to it.
If I was to buy it i think I would pay around the £7 - £10 mark. that's UK pounds
I love Desert Fortress and Geraniums. Desert Fortress because I am always drawn to fall colors - the warm and darker colors of red, orange, yellow and green. This painting reminds me of a walk thru the woods with the changing colors. Also, I love Geraniums because I think you've captured the colors and detail. You are amazing to put out so much work each day!
I would purchase either of these, but I don't have any ideal what original artwork costs.
question #1 the yellow tulip one-i like tulips :),the vibrant colors plus it would like great in my newly painted bathroom
aunteegem@yahoo.com
for a print $20.00
entry #2 again I would pick the yellow tulips to buy
aunteegem@yahoo.com
entry # 3
mmm I don't know anything about what original artwork goes plus having the money is a definite factor for me in purchasing it.
probaby the most I could afford is
40.00
very nice of you to have free shipping for the prize
aunteegem@yahoo.com
I like undersea magic the best, I like the quirky image and vibrant colors, good movement. I think you should do more like this. It looks free and happy.
My husband is an artist and I know how hard it is to price and sell his pieces, You should price what you feel it should be. And I have found when the person that loves it finds it, the price doesn't matter.
Luck to you in your art
Vicki
blazing Fortress.. reminds me og the Anasazi ruins..
I am pinter, pricing is a Pain!! I let my gallery do the pricing, becasue they pick waht they think will sell
for a 5x7 original 150.00 a print 25.00
julep1940@yahoo.com
the 31/2 X5 original 100.00
Print 25.00
if it was a piece i couldnt liev without, id try to pay what the artist prices it at, within my budget,
My paintings 40x40 sell for up to 1200.. small work I find I want to price at no less than 200.00..but I give away art to people I care for if they cant buy it, i donate to charity a lot and swap with artists ,I'd love to say I could support my self with painting, but I am too .. hardheaded, tired(lazy )and opinionated!
I love # 6 and 20 the best and would buy eitherof them.
I have bought a few prints and a couple of original works - but generally I don't pay moe than $200.
I look for new artists.
Great body of work!
