Today’s efforts and persistence paid off in that I have completed the watercolor I had started at the beginning of this AEDM challenge. At least I think it is finished. What is interesting to me is that yesterday I had my doubts about the progress of the painting, and yet today I am happy with the results. It is further evidence that usually in the process of creating the painting, I like the beginning, usually HATE the middle stages, and if I keep going with adding in the details, I end up loving the final painting.
I wasn’t sure about how it was going at all, even at the beginning of today’s session, so I took a break and walked away from it to have a snack. Then I went back to it and somehow, miraculously, I knew what I had to do to finish the painting. It was almost instinctive, and really, if I had allowed my left-brain, analytical side to determine what I should do next, I would have quit and torn it up. I am glad I didn’t do that and I learned something from the experience.
What do you think? I haven’t named it yet. Any ideas?
Creatively Yours In Spirit,
Arlene

That turned out lovely! Good job! Reminds me of when I was trying to learn a new song on the guitar. If it wasn't going well I'd quit & try again in about a week. Then I would have no problems at all!
Absolutely lovely. I know some suggested Serenity. I like that, but I would add tree, (The) Serenity Tree. Exquisite! ~ essensu
Absolutely beautiful! I can almost hear the water.
Thank you so much for your comments! I like that suggestion for the name also, essensu.
Oh I love it!! Yes, I'm the same way -- love having the beginning idea, hate the suck stuff in the middle, and then if I just keep working the piece, then usually I end up with something I dig. But it's the whole sucking part -- arg! :) So glad you stayed with it -- it turned out just wonderful... names? Hmm... I'm terrible with names. I've been doing inventive things like Kabuki I and Kabuki II over at my place :) ha!
You know, it's funny about that thing where you walk away and then come back and then can see how to finish it. That happens to me a LOT! I can't see it, can't see can't see can't see. Leave it. Come back later and it's like it pops out of the page. Hmm? Interesting ...
Looking forward to seeing all that unfolds for you for AEDM!

The painting turned out wonderful, marvelous. Everthing is accented so well with color that it is beautiful as a whole but you can also appreciate each part...the trees, the water, the rocks. Bravo.
